After almost a decade in its previous premises, StateCover Mutual was approaching a lease expiry and needed to determine its next move.

Split across two floors, the workplace had become tired, short on meeting and collaboration spaces, and disconnected between teams. Limited access to natural light and a lack of suitable support spaces also made it less inviting for a growing hybrid workforce.

Crest was engaged to lead the workplace strategy, design and delivery process. Through executive visioning, staff surveys, workshops, departmental interviews and site due diligence, we helped StateCover Mutual understand its people’s needs and build a clear business case for relocation.

The strategy process identified a single-floor workplace as the right solution: one that could bring teams together, provide more choice across the workday and accommodate future growth. The new space includes acoustic neighbourhoods for focused work, quiet rooms, meeting rooms and informal collaboration spaces, enabling people to work in the way that best suits the task at hand.

At the centre of the workplace, an expansive breakout area makes the most of the city views and creates a place for people to connect. An operable wall allows the adjacent 30-person boardroom to open into the space, forming a flexible town hall setting for larger gatherings and events.

The result is a light-filled, future-ready workplace that supports stronger connection, greater visibility across teams and a more flexible way of working. By giving people a range of settings for focus, collaboration and community, StateCover Mutual now has a workplace designed to support its culture and growth.
