Liberty needed more space, but also a smarter way to use it. By combining staff workshops, utilisation data and space modelling, we helped create a new hybrid workplace with 40% more workpoint capacity, more than triple the collaboration seats, double the meeting room capacity and more support spaces for everyday work.
Liberty had outgrown their existing workplace at Governor Phillip Tower. After securing the remaining tenancy on Level 37, the business had the opportunity to rethink its office across both floors and create a workplace that better supported its people, current staff numbers and future growth.
The challenge was clear. The existing space was no longer working hard enough for the team, with pressure on workpoints, meeting rooms, focus spaces and collaboration areas. Staff feedback and utilisation analysis confirmed that teams were finding it difficult to sit together, acoustics were poor, and the workplace felt disconnected across Levels 37 and 38.
Crest led a workplace strategy process to test those pain points and define the right path forward. Through staff and leadership engagement, utilisation studies and space modelling, we developed three options - Refresh, Revitalise and Re-imagine - to help Liberty weigh up different levels of change across the two floors.
Liberty selected Re-imagine, a full refurbishment of both levels. The outcome is a more connected, flexible workplace across 3,000 sqm, with increased workpoints, more support space, and a stronger mix of settings for focused work and collaboration. The strategy also helped triple collaboration seats and double meeting room capacity, creating a better foundation for the way Liberty works today.
The project will be delivered in two stages within a live working environment, helping Liberty remain operational while our team carefully manage the programme, access, sequencing and disruption. Stage one was handed over in April 2026, with stage two on track for completion in July 2026.
