With changing regulations reshaping advertising pathways, Sportsbet shifted its media strategy to focus on in-house content. Their vision: expand broadcasting capabilities and upgrade their Melbourne HQ for high-performance media delivery.
Sportsbet is an Australian digital e-commerce business, with a growing focus on in-house media and live content production.
To support this shift, they required a purpose-built workplace capable of professional broadcasting - a challenge given their base in a Class 5 commercial building not typically designed for such use. Their brief also included meeting strict acoustic, airflow and lighting requirements while delivering the project within a tight construction window.
At the heart of the expansion are two new broadcasting studios, supported by acoustically treated control rooms and editing suites. We engaged a specialist acoustic engineer early in the design process to ensure each space was slab-to-slab sealed and tuned for professional audio requirements.
Air-conditioning was reconfigured to accommodate the unique thermal and sound isolation needs of these spaces.
Editing suites were tailored for high-focus work, incorporating optimal lighting and a custom-formulated 18% grey tone, considered the benchmark for colour grading accuracy. This tone, not available through standard suppliers, was precisely matched and applied to ensure consistency with Sportsbet’s production standards.
Beyond the broadcast infrastructure, our team also addressed broader workplace needs. Modifications to workstation layouts improved team flow, while new meeting rooms were introduced to support increased collaboration and production planning.
