After returning to the office post-pandemic, Teachers Mutual Bank wanted to create a pilot space to trial a more agile way of working. We’ve created a multifunctional space that supports their community culture.
Teachers Mutual Bank is one of the largest customer owned banks in Australia, with over 230,000 members. After experiencing remote working through the pandemic, they wanted to refresh their existing office to help encourage the return to work.
Their current breakout space was feeling dated, so they decided to use this as an opportunity to refresh the space and integrate additional functionality. The design focused on creating an agile space that could be used in a number of ways.
We took inspiration from their other work sites to create a sense of familiarity. It achieved a fresh and inviting feeling with the use of natural finishes and calming colours. As you move through the space, different ceiling and floor finishes help to create distinctive zones.
A tiered seating bench anchors the room, and features integrated AV so it can easily transition into a dedicated zone for large presentations or team meetings. We also introduced an additional meeting room, and a number of quiet rooms for phone calls or individual focus work.
The result is a restorative and multifunctional space, which complements their traditional way of working. Their people can step away from their desk and utilise the room for socialising, collaboration or focus work.
