Retro Traffic’s new headquarters has provided them with a significant upgrade in design and functionality. Their new location has set them up to achieve their expansion goals, while providing their people with a new gym, breakout room, training facilities and warehouse.
Retro Traffic has provided traffic management solutions since 1987, managing major road, motorway, and tunnel infrastructure projects. When the lease at their existing headquarters came up for renewal, it was an opportunity for them to expand, modernise, and acquire all the nice-to-haves that the old location could not accommodate.
Their previous location was too small; they needed warehouse space to store equipment and machinery and were also concerned about recruitment.
The new space needed to be modern, inviting and reflective of their vibrant culture to attract a new generation of talent. They also wanted to provide their valued employees with unique perks, like an on-site fitness centre, showers, a well-equipped breakout room and training facilities.
We designed their new workplace to be practical, modern, and agile. The resulting design has a bright, streamlined look and feel. Graphic maps of Sydney are used on the walls and decals, integrating hints of the company’s colours throughout. We extended the existing built space and created an extension within the warehouse for a new breakout area, gym, training room, and showers.
Management offices are on the upper level, with a tea point and meeting rooms nearby. The operations team is on the ground floor with easy access to facilities, including a flexible training space for contractors.
