Eppendorf, a company with its registered office in Germany, develops, produces and sells products and services for laboratories around the world.
Eppendorf took their recent office relocation as an opportunity to focus on what mattered to them as a business, in both a function & aesthetic way as well as look at opportunities to adopt an agile working environment.
Their new space in Macquarie Park includes a humidity & temperature controlled testing lab, a large breakout space connected to the boardroom to accommodate town hall meetings or training
days, quiet rooms, hot office, lockers for all staff and collaboration spaces to encourage agile working.
The move to agile working was driven by Eppendorf and it was a big shift for them culturally as they came from quite a traditional workspace and it as something they were quite passionate about adopting in their new space.
The bright pops of colour create a unique and inviting space that feels fresh and inspiring and creates a whole new mindset for the staff working there.

Project Description: Opus is a global supplier of recruitment solutions with offices in London, Bristol, Amsterdam & New York. The brief for an open plan office was strongly driven by Opus and with arguably one of the best views in Sydney the design and planning of the space was organic. All built form and furniture are concentrated around the core of the suite, which makes the view accessible from anywhere in the office. With a relatively monochromatic palette, the vivid pops of colour in the graphics inject life and vibrancy into the work areas.

Project Description: CH2 is Australia’s leading integrated distributor of pharmaceuticals, medications and equipment. Moving into a brand new, purpose built office & warehouse facility in Keysborough, Crest worked closely with CH2 to bring their new, open plan and functional workplace to life that would accommodate the expected future growth of the company. The colour scheme of the office was designed to tie in with the CH2 corporate branding through airy whites, a combination of timbers in varying shades, paired with greenery and lively pops of red throughout the office.

My Gateway is where aspiring apprentices and trainees start their careers by placing them within host companies. With a recent growth in staff numbers, My Gateway took the opportunity to revamp their existing office space into an edgy, dramatic space, infused with natural light and greenery.

My Gateway had a clear vision for the look and feel of their office from the start of the project and in working closely with them, we were able to deliver this through the use of natural timbers, black fixtures, concrete look flooring and perforated metals.

Hume Community Housing

Hume Community Housing is one of Australia’s leading not-for-profit affordable housing providers.

Relocating from some existing premises in Fairfield, Hume commissioned a new build of affordable housing apartments and a flagship head office in the heart of Fairfield. Hume saw this opportunity as a new way to rebrand and reinvigorate their work environment.

Crest were engaged early in the building construction phase. During this time, Crest and Hume facilitated workshops progressing and developing the design collaboratively whilst accommodating staff feedback. Progressive budging during this stage enabled the alignment of the budget with the design

The brief was to create a space that broke down existing silos, leading to a flexible, agile and welcoming environment that their employees and customers would be inspired by and feel proud to be part of.

One of the challenges was to create a work environment that also allowed for general public / client access. We designed an open plan office space that accommodates the need for a public client interface reception with associated interview rooms that feel welcoming, without compromising the security and safety requirements of Hume staff within this area.

Technology enabled meeting spaces, hot desks and private offices allow for flexible working opportunities. Residential style fittings and finishes as well as greening through interior planting contribute to a feeling of ‘home’.

With the introduction of innovative design solutions around flexible and collaborative work spaces, we were able to accommodate a considerable amount of people and associated facilities, whilst still allowing for the space to be light filled, providing an ambience of openness as well as delivering a public interface that is a warm and welcoming environment for Hume’s clientele.

Construction targets were met, and the project was completed within a short time frame of 8 weeks.
